What Is Kings League?
Kings League is a new kind of soccer competition built for the next generation of fans. It combines real football, live entertainment, creators, streamers, former professional players, and game-inspired rules into a fast, unpredictable, and highly watchable format.
Founded by former FC Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Piqué, Kings League reimagines traditional soccer as a modern sports-entertainment product: shorter matches, more goals, creator-led teams, interactive moments, dramatic rule changes, and live broadcasts designed for digital platforms like YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and streaming partners.

OUR FOUNDER
Gerard Piqué is a global soccer legend who played for FC Barcelona, Manchester United, and the Spain National Team, winning trophies, including the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA EURO, the Premier League, and multiple UEFA Champions League and LaLiga titles.
Beyond the field, Gerard has sought to drive change and shape the future of sports through the creation of new products and experiences. In 2017, while still a key member of the FC Barcelona squad, he founded Kosmos, a company dedicated to driving innovative and transformative businesses in sports and media. Kings League is a groundbreaking seven-a-side soccer competition created by FC Barcelona legend Gerard Piqué. Teams are owned and managed by the world's biggest streamers, content creators, and soccer stars. Matches are played under unique, gamified rules that guarantee wild and unpredictable action on the pitch. The content creator Team Presidents stream matches on their own channels on major social media and streaming platforms, interacting with fans live in the chat during the game.
Launched in Barcelona in 2022, Kings League has become a global phenomenon, today operating nine leagues – seven men's leagues and two women's leagues – across seven major markets, as well as two annual international Kings World Cup tournaments.
Yes! Kings League has created a version of live soccer with rules inspired by gaming and esports. Kings League's radical rulebook ensures games are fast, unpredictable, and highly entertaining. There are no ties – all games end with a winner and a loser. There are "Secret Card" power-ups that teams can deploy for specific advantages during the game. Team Presidents – who are superstar streamers, content creators, and soccer icons – can come onto the field during the game to take a penalty. Although the rules are crazy, our matches are live, competitive contests that are organized and refereed at the standard of professional sports.
All Kings League matches are available to watch for free on major streaming and social media platforms. One of the unique, central experiences for Kings League fans is watching matches on the personal live streams of Team Presidents. The presidents – who in each league include the biggest streamers and content creators in the country – interact with fans live in the chat throughout the game, as they manage their teams and try to steer them to victory.
Matches are also available to watch live on Kings League's official streaming channels and social media platforms, as well as on partner networks and platforms.
Kings League teams are created, owned, and operated by Team Presidents who are content creators, streamers, soccer icons, or a combination of all three. Many teams have a creator and a soccer star as co-presidents. The Presidents create new Kings League team brands, select their players and coaches, and stream their matches.
Kings League players are a mixture of semi-pros, ex-professionals, 7v7 specialists, and aspiring young talent. Notable stars within the Kings League ecosystem include the Brazilians Kelvin Oliveira and Filype Lipão Pinheiro, both former Football 7 International Federation World Player of the Year award winners.
Kings League organizes tryouts in each market where a league is launching. These tryouts are open to all – any player can submit their application to play in Kings League. They then enter a selection process, which includes live tryouts, in which a final group of players for the league is selected. Team Presidents then draft their players from this pool.
Kings League operates two annual "World Cup" tournaments, one for clubs and one for national teams. The Kings World Cup Clubs features the winners and best teams from each of the seven Kings Leagues around the world. The Kings World Cup Nations features national teams competing for their country.
Queens League, the women's version of Kings League, has been part of our ecosystem since the beginning. Queens League Spain was announced just a month after the first men's competition kicked off. There are now two Queens League competitions, one in Spain and one in Mexico. Queens League operates with the same match rules as Kings League and is also made up of creator and soccer star-led teams.
